Customized Incumbent Worker Training

Bucks County Community College’s Center for Workforce Development provides high value customized training for businesses to help them grow and prosper by upskilling incumbent workers. Topics include leadership and supervision, human resources, computer applications, professional business communications and more. Our instructors are industry professionals who understand your challenges in today’s business world, and how to maximize time and results for your learners. We deliver at all three of our campuses or on site at your business. We administer WEDnetPA grant funds to help defray the cost of training for a variety of industries. We also offer industrial skills training at our Advanced Manufacturing Training Center, much of it grant funded by grants from the County and State.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is an independent federal agency of the U.S. government whose mission is to help small businesses start, grow and succeed through loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions and other forms of assistance to small businesses. Specialized outreach programs exist for women, minorities, armed forces veterans, and underserved communities. SBA delivers its services through an extensive network of field offices and partnerships with public and private organizations.

Small Business Development Centers (SBDC)

Small Business Consulting & Coaching

The SBDC’s mission is to help small business grow and succeed. The SBDC provides high quality business management consulting and training for aspiring entrepreneurs, small emerging growth companies, and established manufacturers and service businesses throughout Pennsylvania. Bucks County businesses are served by SBDCs at Lehigh University and from the Fox School of Business at Temple University. The SBDCs provide a number of services to businesses and entrepreneurs on a no-fee basis: Business Consulting and Coaching, Marketing Strategy Development and Customized Market Research, Advertising and Design Consulting, Legal Advice and Guidance, International Exporting Guidance, Technology Commercialization Services, Government Marketing Assistance, Environmental and Energy Conservation Advice. In addition, the SBDCs provide opportunities for Affordable Hands-On Business Educational Training through workshops and seminars on a broad number of topics of interest to small businesses.

Strategic Early Warning Network (SEWN)

Business Turnaround Service

SEWN is Pennsylvania state funded program targeting stressed manufacturing organizations. A stressed organization is defined as one in danger of eliminating jobs should negative business trends continue. The services of this program are offered to these businesses free of charge. The SEWN turnaround consultant works in conjunction with other state funded partners. Services include: financial: restore cash flow, working capital and re-financing of debt; sales and marketing: including new plans, new customers and markets; revised business strategy; ownership transition; operations and technology improvement. Serving Bucks, Berks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties.
