Ken Charette is a member of the Firm’s Corporate, Business, and Banking Group, as well as its Healthcare Group. He routinely assists clients with a wide range of business and corporate law matters, including, but not limited to: entity selection and formation, shareholder relations and corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, raising capital, regulatory compliance, commercial real estate, and general contract drafting and review.
Ken also advises clients on various types of international business transactions, such as licensing agreements, joint ventures, distributorships, and other types of cross-border relationships.
In his banking practice, Ken assists banks and financial institutions with commercial lending, loan workout, and general collection matters.
He also counsels clients on transactions specific to the healthcare industry, such as the structuring of practice mergers/acquisitions or joint ventures and issues of regulatory compliance involving HIPPA’s patient privacy rules, the Stark Law, and the Anti Kick-Back statute.
Ken earned his Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, and his Juris Doctorate, summa cum laude, from The Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law. He also holds an LL.M from The University of Cambridge (Cambridge, England). Ken has worked at Barley Snyder, LLP, in Lancaster, PA. He has joined the Corporate, Business & Banking Group, and the Healthcare Group at FL&B.

Ondra-Huyett Won the Best Industrial Project
Ondra-Huyett Associates, Inc. (OHA) won the award for best “industrial” project at the 24th Annual Awards of Excellence Banquet organized by the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. - Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter (ABC).
Ondra-Huyett built a $5 million, 7,000 square foot data center and a 9,000 square foot electrical infrastructure building to further expand the data center capabilities at a secure facility in the region.
The project involved converting unused mechanical space into “state of the art” data center space. Construction included the addition of a new primary electrical service, new switch gear, UPS system and megawatts of back-up generation. In addition, new cooling, raised access floor, clean agent fire suppression, security, monitoring and control systems were also built.
“In terms of complexity, data center construction demands a total team effort. In addition to the coordination of all the systems, the project schedule and budget were very tight. This team, which included the Owner, Design Professionals and Contractors once again delivered a top notch facility on time and on budget. Over 300 architects, engineers, construction firms and representatives of the companies and organizations that built “merit construction” facilities in Eastern Pennsylvania in 2014 gathered outside of Philadelphia to learn who and which projects were selected as “Eagle Award” winners in nine separate categories.
The Award of Excellence in Construction is judged by an independent panel of experts representing architects, facilities managers, construction professionals and community leaders who utilize a combination of submitted documentation and site visits to determine the “best in class” from the many projects submitted in each category.
