Healthy Food Financing Initiative Announces $3 Million Available in Funding

Reinvestment Fund is inviting applications for financial and technical assistance through the 2020 round of the Healthy Food Financing Initiative (HFFI) Targeted Small Grants Program. Funding for the HFFI Targeted Small Grants Program is provided by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), authorized by the Farm Bill. Reinvestment Fund serves as the national fund manager for the HFFI program at USDA. The IRS sent out a reminder (IR-2020-89) yesterday for employers affected by COVID-19 about three new credits available to them. Employee Retention Credit: The employee retention credit is designed to encourage businesses to keep employees on their payroll. The refundable tax credit is 50% of up to $10,000 in wages paid by an eligible employer whose business has been financially impacted by COVID-19.The credit is available to all employers regardless of size, including tax-exempt organizations. SBA's EIDL portal will reopen today as a result of funding authorized by Congress through the Paycheck Protection Program and Healthcare Enhancement Act. In anticipation of the new funding round, Reinvestment Fund is sharing information on how you can prepare to submit an application. With this round of funding, Reinvestment Fund will be processing PPP applications. Reinvestment Fund's PPP program will focus on supporting small businesses and nonprofits that are aligned with their mission-driven financing. BCEDC assists a Company to Purchase a Multi-Occupancy Building in Bristol.

Manning-MFG, LLC, through the Bucks County Economic Development Corporation (BCEDC), was approved for a $640,000 PIDA loan at a 3 percent fixed interest rate for 10 years for the acquisition of an existing 28,060 sq. ft. multi-occupancy building in Bristol Township. The facility is currently fully occupied with four longstanding tenants who will continue their agreement with Manning-MFG, LLC. The total project cost is $1.6 million.

Harry J. Barford, Jr. passed away peacefully on April 30th surrounded by his family after a long and brave battle with cancer for six years. He was 76 years old.Harry was a man of many talents and successes. He founded Carrol Engineering where he served as President and Chairman until retirement where he remained as Chairman Emertius.
