BCEDC 56th Annual Dinner & Reorganization Meeting
Despite down pours and flooding the Bucks County Economic Development Corporation’s 56th Annual Dinner & Reorganization Meeting held on April 30, 2014 was a great success with 190 attendees. The meeting was held at Spring Mill Manor, Ivlyand.
The evening started with networking during the cocktail and hors d’oeuvre hour. BCEDC Board President, James A. Bleakly, Jr. kicked off the night welcoming the guests and thanking the sponsors.

Bob Cormack, Executive Director and Jerry Forest, BCEDC Secretary, conducted a brief meeting to elect the General Board and Executive Board of Directors’ of BCEDC. The Board and Executive Board remained the same as 2013. The Executive Board serves a two year term.
Joel L. Naroff was the keynote speaker. Mr. Naroff is the president and founder of Naroff Economic Advisors, a strategic economic consulting firm. He advises companies across the country on the risks and opportunities that economic developments may have on the organization’s operating environment. Mr. Naroff delivered his message about economics with wit and straightforwardness. Mr. Naroff’s outlook was positive despite first quarter sluggishness.
Each year BCEDC awards Companies with engraved wooden plaques which have received financing through their various loan programs. The plaques are given out to recognize the company’s efforts to retain and create jobs in Bucks County. The following companies received plaques:
The George School and Chandler Hall for Tax Free Financing; Bioplast Manufacturing and Polstar, LLC for Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund, IMET and Huys Electrodes for Small Business First Funding and Worldwide Medical Products, A& L Foods, and OKNA Windows for Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority. Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Fulton Bank, Wells Fargo, Univest, and M&T Bank were also given plaques for their efforts to increase the economic base in Bucks County. All in all 521 jobs were retained and 388 jobs created with a total project cost of $92,860,271.
Guests received a dual use USB Car Charger with a BCEDC logo.
